Sooooo, (why do all my blogs start out that way?) Mike proposed to me last night! EEEEEEEEE!!!
I had said a while back, that when he proposed to me, would he sprinkle rose petals all over the bed. Just coz that's pretty. So anyways, we get back from hanging out at Aunt Stace's and stuffing our faces with eggs benedict, and insane veggie platters. We put on jammies and got ready for bed time. I was feeling particularly snuggly for some reason, and we were having some of those.....staring at eachothers eyeballs moments. And i, out of common courtesy......warned him that i was a little bit gassy,and said something along the lines of "ha ha, you have to sleep next to me tonight". he's laughing hysterically the whole time, and im like "damn, it's not THAT funny". then i figured out why he was laughing....
i pull the covers back, and whamo......rose petals. i cover my face and start laughing stupid hard, because i just spent his entire proposal prep time talking about gas and various other fart related things. so, he drops my grandpa's signature proposal...."you ever think about getting married? well, think about it", and puts the ring on. at this point, we cannot stop laughing. it was ridiculous. i say we can NEVER tell anyone that story. and he says "no, i wanna blog about it".
damn.
so yes, ashley and mike are officially engaged! WAHOOOO!!!! The end.

Soooo, yesterday was totally awesome. We hung out at the 5th ave mall with my Aunt Stace and cousin Kailee (pics of them in the next post). Stace had to pick up some clinique foundation, so i headed over to the Mac counter and got a makeover. Aunt Stace was a total doll and bought me my new face for christmas. My makeup bag is now ridiculously full of awesome stuff.
After that we went to Sullivans and got some cocktails. Then we went to Simon and Seaforts and got MORE cocktails, and awesome appetizers. The bills for both were insane. But we got to experience the ritzy alaska stuff, so that's cool.
Then we met up with Guy and Ted and Sarah Jo and Donna at the Bears Tooth Grill and ate some yummy food,and drank apple beer, which i thought was fantastic, but everyone else thought it could be better. Whateva.
Then we came home, and passed out at like, 10:30 like the old farts that we are.

we've arrived in alaska! and holy crap it's cold and snowy. go fig. :) we did a little bit of cruising and hanging out yesterday after 10 hours of travel, creating a 28 hour day, on the alleged shortest day of the year. how's that for some gravitas? :) anywho, it's just shy of 11am at the moment, but my body's telling me it's 3, which means i definitely need to get in the shower and get some food in my belly. in the meantime, here's some pics!
